San Jose

Back in January Local 3:16 had the chance to serve the Sarmiento family along side the River Church in San Jose California. We have known Jairo and Lourdes for years now. Many of us have traveled to Honduras in the past to work along side their family as they served those around them. Others traveled down to help repair the Sarmiento’s home in Tegucigalpa.

Since those trip to Honduras, much has changed. As a family, Jairo and Lourdes have moved to San Jose, California and partnered with The River Church to minister to the Spanish speaking population of the area. The River was gracious enough to provide a house for the Sarmientos, however the house was in need of some repair and remodeling.

With gifts from The River for materials and K2 the Church to get out there, we were able turn the building into a home for the Sarmientos. From reworked plumbing and electrical to new floors, the house is safe and functional for the family and their ministry.

This was a unique opportunity for Local 3:16 to love on those who have poured so much love into us. We extend out gratitude to The River and K2 the Church for providing the funds to make this possible. As always, we appreciate everything Jairo, Lourdes, and their children did for us. Lastly, we’d like to thank the neighbors for putting up with our noise and providing those oranges.
